So most of you by now have heard about all the crazy rain we've been getting here. let me fill you in on my past few days since I last journalled.
Last weekend was gay pride in LaCrosse. So even though it had been raining all day my sister and I decided to go out dancing at the gay bar. We went out for sushi first. By the time we got done eating it was raining really hard. Many of the streets we took had pretty high standing water. But I have 4 wheel drive and my truck is up pretty high so I just went through it. Pretty soon my windsheild wipers start going really slow and my lights go out. My car was going really slow even though I was stepping on the gas. I just managed to get it in a parking place before it died.
At this point we should have given up,. If we had been smart we would have gone home. But we were not smart we were very dumb that night! So we went into this bar that we liked. I called Jay and told him that the car died but that we would take a cab home later. after about an hour we decided we'd go to the gay bar. So the gay bar is several block away from where we were. It was POURING rain out. SO we ran from point A to point B. The water was past my ankles. My poor sister had a $150 pair of shoes on that she got SO wet. So anyways the dancing was good. When we got to the point when we wanted to go home we called a cab. Unortunately the wait was almost 2 hours!! SO my sister called our friend Cliff. Well he came to get us but it took quiet awhile because so many of the roads were flooded. SO cliff took us to colleens house and then she took me home in her car. Well we got about a forth of the way up my driveway and had to stop. A HUGE pile of dirt and grass and basically HILL had slid down onto the road. Well it's a good thing I wasn't drunk cuz I had to climb over this big mess and up my super steep driveway at 2am in the pouring rain! It was awfull. My pants and shoes got all muddy. At least I made it home safe and my house was still there. Lots of others weren't so lucky. At least 6 people in the area were killed when their cars were swept off the road by water,
My car was fixed and the road is cleared away for now. BUt rain is forcasted every day untill the weekend. Last night it stormed really bad and a bunch of HUGE rocks fell off the cliff onto our driveway pretty close to our house. Thunderstorms are predicted for this afternoon. So yeah things are pretty crazy here. If you wanna pray (to whoever) light a candle or whatever you do spiritually do it PLEASE. Just 2 more days till the weekend.
