WELL it's happened again. For those of you who have read my journals throughout the years know that I feel that there's a serial killer in the midwest. There have been 7 young men in LaCrosse who've drowned in the river here after drinking downtown. The number is actually 9 but they're not including 2 other men that they say don't fit the cercumstanses. One of these "not in the catigory" people was a boy that went to our school. He was found in a tributary of the missisipi river. His clothes were removed along with is shoes they were folded neatly and put in a pile at the rivers edge. The police ruled this a suicide.
Anyways this weekend was the start of our annual drunken brawl fest called Octoberfest. One of the other boys who drown lost his life after celebrating Octoberfest. SO Sunday morning the news reported that an other boy had gone missing after drinking heavily. His name is Luke Homan, he's 21. I just read that police bloodhounds tracked his sent to the rivers edge. I'm sure in the next few days they'll find that poor boys body in the river.
Athorities continue to deney that theres anything going on. All the deaths have been ruled accidental drownings. Here check out some links.

If you look at these links all the young men drownings in the midwest are huge! It's just insane that people in this area just assume when a young man goes missing that they're in the river! SO often though it's true and we're morning another poor boys shortened life. I'm seriously afraid to let Jay go out with all his guy friends. What if one of them don't come back??
I'm foolish to think that this time will be any different. The police will find this kid drowned in the river and just assume that he walked blocks away from where he was in the cold. That he climbed over the railings or navigated the uneven rocks or the levee and then jumped or fell into the river. For the eighth (or tenth depending on who you count) time in this area only. How the heck do you think of this as an accident over and over????
UPDATE: They pulled Luke Homan's body out of the mississippi river at 10am today. He will have been the 8th since '97 and the 24th since 1974 a statistic that authorities said then was due to binge drinking and not as evidence of criminal activity. Yeah right.
