I find reassurance in the weirdest places sometimes.
Have you ever been down about yourself, think that you suck, aren't doing well at work and then a coworker does sloppy work or just out and out fucks up and you take shameful glee from it realizing that it isn't just you who sometimes has trouble finding their own nose?
The landlord for the building I work in had this dipshit contractor come in and repave and restripe our parking lot. It's a definite improvement over the way is was before but, still looks like it was done by five year olds.
The striping is off in a few places and what's more it is painfully obvious that the contractor's crew didn't sweep the lot before paving it over. There are twigs, old cups, bits of trash, dropped paper clips and post-its among other things sticking up from out of the sealant. In one area, there is a ton of gravel that was paved over. It looks like our parking lot is going through puberty with an interesting case of acne.
I thought it was funny especially when the landlord came over to inspect the work and all he did was shake his head and curse.
Of course the best way to feel better about myself would be to work harder and do better work however, sometimes it's just easier to revel in mistakes made by some one else for a change. I wish I owned a camera and could post some pics, some of the spots look hilarious!
