Day 42 of sobriety and things are going okay. I will be picking up my restrictive driver's license today so I will be able to drive to work again which has me ultra excited! It has been taking me almost an hour and a half on public transit to commute to work. Recently we had to get off the bus and wait for the next one to come on two occassions. Once when the rear brakes started smoking like crazy and the other time because two guys got into a fist fight on the bus. Throw in all the other joys that public transit brings and needless to say, I will not be missing it one bit espescially since I will be able to get to work now in about 15 minutes. Aside from that, I have been going to meetings, have a sponsor I like that I have been working the steps with the last month or so. The hardest thing is working through my depression and trying to find another way to do it that doesn't involve drinking. All the things I wasn't facing, that I was putting off are now staring me right in the face "hey, remember us? We didn't go anywhere." I'm just taking it one day at a time....
