Fun facts about Happyboy:

1. My parents were going to name me Sarah Anne if I had been born a girl. I am glad that didn't happen since my last name starts with a K. In college, I met a guy whose name was Richard Zucker. Imagine if I had been born a girl and we had wound up dating, "hey, there goes Dick Zucker and his girlfriend SAcK!"

2. I have been told off and on through out my life that, before they got to know me, some peole were afraid of me because I often get this menacing look on my face without realizing it.

3. In elementary school, no one could burp louder then me.

4. In the third grade, I was a big fan of the Incredible Hulk tv show starring Lou Ferrigno as the Hulk. Every now and then, I would rip off my shirt and shoes and run around roaring and picking up big rocks and breaking tree branches. I was fortunate for two reasons: one, our house was a good 100 yards off the main road and surrounded by tall trees so no one could see or hear the spectacle I was making of myself as they drove by, and two, my parents never kept green paint any where around the house. If they had, I probably would have been tempted to paint myself for the full affect.

5. In junior high i witnessed my older brother getting molested by a stranger. I have never spoken to my brother about it. I wasn't sure about what I saw back then and it has been several years since. I don't know if it ever affected my brother or if he repressed it but, I don't think he would admit that it happened now anyway.

6. I have accepted the fact that I will be riddled with arhtritis when I get old. Since high school I have cracked my knuckles so much that sometimes I can do it by just squeezing my hands into fists. I always crack my neck as a reflex when I need to relax or get ready to do a big project. And, thanks to the 5 years I rowed on a crew team, both my knees pop at least once a day.

7. I am secure enough in my heterosexuality to admit that "Let My Love Open the Door" by Pete Townshend is one of my favorite songs of all time and that if I ever get married I would want it to be played as my bride and I walked back down the aisle as man and wife.

8. I once worked security for a Jane's Addiction concert in Seattle. Perry Ferrell almost ended the concert half way through because some people were throwing their shoes on to the stage. I still remember his sleepy, whiny voice, "hey, if you want to be known as the asshole of Seattle, throw one more shoe up here!"

9. I always wanted to learn to play the guitar but never got around to it for the simple, stupid reason that my Mom said I had to take a year of piano first and back then I thought the piano was a dumb instrument. Ironically, I would love to learn the piano now, and maybe I will some day, unfortunately, it will be a lot harder to pick up then it would have been if I had taken lessons when I was much younger. If I had, who knows how musically talented (or untalented) I would be today had I not squandered the chance to realize my full potential.

10. I didn't have my first real girlfriend until my freshmen year in college. I am ashamed to say I went a little stalker on her when she dumped me. I didn't crank call her or send her weird gifts or anything. Whenever I walked by her dorm room and the light was on i would try to see if she had another guy with her. She was on the third floor so this wasn't easy or very accurate for that matter. She told me she had dumped me because she wasn't sure how she felt about her ex back home. I later found out it was because she had the hots for a football player in one of her classes.

11. I am really bad at remembering names. If I meet you and then run into you a week later, don't be offended if I keep calling you dude.

12. I think having a wishlist on your profile page is tacky.

13. Ever since I spent a Summer in Japan as an exchange student I have dreamed about going back some day and visiting the more traditional, grassroots part of the country.

14. The last time I can remember crying was 15 years ago when my grandfather on my Dad's side passed away. I have no idea why I did since I barely knew him.

15. Growing up I always tanned A LOT easier and A LOT darker then the rest of my family. As a result, I was asked more then once if I was adopted. One year when I was playing little league baseball the other mothers, when they saw how light skinned my mother was, thought I was of mixed ethnicity. I always get a kick out of it when I remember all of that, it's kinda funny.

16. I had two reoccurring mightmares when I was little: getting chased by Frankenstein in some weird locale or falling from some place high like a building or a cliff or getting pushed out of a plane. Nowadays, I tend to have a severly mixed collage of images making it almost impossible to remember anything that happened in my dreams.
