I really like the new Ladytron single "Sugar" which you can listen to here. It seems as if they are going in a different direction on their new record, compared to the last two releases, but I really like what I hear. I must say they are an amazing live band and when I say that, I really mean "live band". So go see them next time they come around.
Also new NIN dates
My favorite San Francisco band Beulah is coming out with a documentary in August. It looks kinda interesting. Im still very bummed that they broke up, again..
Since im on the subject
My Top 5 Bay Area Groups:
1. Pavement (Stockton)
2. Beulah (SF)
3. Trackstar (SF)
4. Crumb (SF)
5. The Lovemakers (Oakland)
All but one of these groups (The Lovemakers) are currently broken up. Well I actually heard a rumor that Trackstar is back together, i'll believe it when I see it. I feel bad leaving Grandaddy (Modesto) out so I will give them an honorable mention. I will also give Chris Isaak (Stockton) an honorable mention for best solo artist. Wow, im really bored tonight, cant you tell?
*favorite new group out of the Bay Area: Tussle (San Francisco)
For fans of The Rapture & Out Hud. They will be playing the Che Cafe in early July. They had me getting my dance on a few weeks ago at the Casbah while opening for Out Hud. I give that show 5 out of 5 asteriks*****
Also check out cLOUDDEAD for some excellent Bay Area hip hop.
