you know, it's sad how people will try to defame someone's character by making false implications. it's mccarthyism at its worst. why don't we try to blacklist people as well again?
what's even more sad though, is when people make insinuations and have not clue #1 when it comes to what they have just spake on.
for example, referring to michael moore and any other "liberals" or "anti-americans" (or "patriots" as i sometimes refer to them as) who don't just fall into line and keep their heads down, as communists. mccathy would be proud if he wasn't busy feeding worms right now.
the problem is, it goes back tot he old us vs the commies ideal, except that, really, communism hasn't been used by a government, ever. it's always been socialism. iraq was a socialist regime. stalin and hitler were fascists before socialism came into play. the ussr, old enemy russia, stood for the Union of Soviet SOCIALIST Republics. not the uscr or anything like that.
red china and korea, as i correct my earlier statement, are communist countries. and they differ quite greatly from the ones usually used for comparison (and that also happen to be SOCIALIST not communist) like russia and cuba and iraq.
the enemy in 1984 wasn't big brother. chances are, big brother had been dead for quite a long while. the real enemy was a twisted, warped and somehow after all that, still perverted version of english socialism, shortened to "ingsoc."
so, to make an argument based on fallacious assumptions and false infomation does not necessarily make one WRONG in their argument, but it certainly casts doubt on anythign intelligent they may have brought to the table thus far.
just an opinion here. not to be taken as a diss or anything like that.
ps for anyone reading this (doubt it, but it's fun to say anyway) i got into a debate on a forum thread and this is my ventilitation because of the tomfoolery that was displayed by an individual or individuals there.
have a nice weekend everybody.
my friend scott is having a pirate party with rum and a deck and a pool and pirate music and movie in the background. gonna be fun. i worked on my peg leg tonight, tomorrow i will finish it.
arrr!
