So my sister came in from out of town yesterday and invited me along to a night of drinking with her friends. We met up at the Cafe Du Nord to check out "The Album Leaf" who I guess have the bass player of The Blackheart Procession and a couple members from Iceland or something. 2 pints and 4 gin and tonics later, the band was great. After the show our crowd ventured down to a friends house in the area. As we collected out front, I guess our festive mood may have been a little noisy, for their bitchy neighbor came out in her bathrobe and uttered these priceless words:

"Hey guys you rent an apartment, not the street"

You could tell by the delivery that she had been mulling these words around her head for hours at least, just waiting for an excuse to wield this gem. So we went in side and had a good chuckle over it and soon more people came by. Eventually the group decision was to walk back down the street to Lucky 13 and get in a couple drinks before they closed. I remember popcorn, pinball and more booze. On the way back we were loudly reminding ourselves "Hey guys, remember. We don't rent the street!" and for some reason unknown to me I pointlessly tried to climb a chain link fence, resulting in it buckling, bending over and poking the side of my head. Lying on the ground, right hand clasped to my head, the block spinning, I felt like a champion. The fence had won my unprovoked attack, but would bare a scar for the rest of its days. This morning I felt like hell. Upon inspecting my throbbing head, I noticed a clump of hair scabbed together. I proceeded to cancel all of my plans until I could again walk upright, which I finally managed to achieve with relative comfort about 15 minutes ago. Now I believe I am off to the beach, for it is remarkably sunny outside.

This summer/city has turned me in to a fucking lush.
lemonkid:
Album Leaf are a pretty swank band.
