Hey, thanks all of you for your great positive comments regarding tonight's slam.

I came in 3rd place out of 7. It was a lot of fun though. I was in 2nd place going into the final round, neck and neck with this other guy. My last poem was a gamble and I knew it. It was a low energy piece that, while I am proud of it, I knew it normally wouldn't get very high scores, but I know that sometimes low energy poems get high scores in the last round if the first two are high energy. My gamble didn't pull off and, in the end, I was in third.

Still, it was great, and I got plenty of positive comments. It was worth it to have Sage Francis, the king of underground hip-hop, tell me afterwards how much he liked my poems.

And Jared told a great story on the microphone that they never told me before. Apparently, when at the LA youth nationals, Jared decided to stand up in the middle of an airport food court and recite my poem "Trojan Horseshit", which is one of my most vulgar pieces. He then realiezed that there was a table full of eight year olds right next to him. Yes, Jared is a smart man, isn't he?
