Okay..this is kinda weird...

I know that in our society celebrities..however minor a one I may be..are sort of public property but this goes in a brilliantly screwball direction.

I spoke tonight with a girl I have known for a few years and we have always flirted because she is awesome and I.. am a rake. Now.. nothing is going to happen because she is in a relationship and I..uh.. I...uh..she's in a relationship.

Anyway, We were having a nice chat about the number of people we knew who were in the hospital in Lousianna and Texas during the hurricane... and who had to be whisked out of surgery and into a van and rumbled across the southern outback toward an recovery ward that might not be wiped from the face of the earth because God was so pissed at homosexuals and abortionists that he needed to drown poor people and the indigent. Wwwwhhhhaaatt? ah..irony.... yeah..

so here's the weird part... heh...

She asks me how my love life is going and after a few self depricating "jokes" that were more truth than fiction I said I was dating someone for a while but that ended and now I'm focusing on work and staying out of the relationship business for a while...and she says "I know" ... and I said Hmmm? You know?

We hadn't talked in months...

I know I hadn't talked to her while I was dating this person.. She knows?

Well... It turns out she was under the impression that I had been dating someone she knew tangentally. How did She know? The girl has been saying it everywhere! Apparently, according to someone she had spoken to who knew this girl.... She had moved in with me and we had been together for some time AND...AND... the state she moved to to live with me?... uh not one I actually live in...

So I have been in a relationship with someone for months. We have been living together. And she left her work to be with me,

a-m-a-z-i-n-g eh?

p.s. [full disclosure] This is a girl I met...once...cordially... and never spoke to again. Not because She's awful or anything... just because the world is big. So big in fact that I had no idea we were sleeping together.
