There are few books that I get excited about reading anymore. I find that most authors fall into two categories... either very mediocre or too intent on proving to their reader that they're intellegent and clever, and therefore just end up being pretentious and annoying (like Dennis Miller without the charm...).
But there's one book that I will tell anyone and everyone to read. I've read most of his stuff, and it's by FAR my favorite.
A brief overview...
"Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal" is, first of all, a work of FICTION. So don't write me or Christoper Moore about how outrageous it is to use Jesus as a character. Fiction. (But to be honest, it seems more plausable to me than the bible does... but that might just be me.)
Anyway, do you ever wonder what happened to Jesus in the years from 13 to 30? They just get ignored. Well, here's what might have happened, as told by Biff, Christ's best friend. It's funny, yet sweet, and I love how Christopher Moore makes his characters jump to life.
I've bought 5 copies of this book so far, and I've given each one away to friends.. and I never expect to get them back. It's that good.
So hit your local Barnes and Nobel, Borders, Waldenbooks, or Hastings... you'll be glad you did.*
*at least I hope so... I'm not reimbursing you if you don't like it though.

perhaps if the catholic church hadn't edited the bible we would actually know what happened from ages 13 to 30. just a thought... lol..
