well, so my birthday has come and passed. I am officially 25 now. For the first time in a while, I had a kick ass birthday. I got to go and see one of my favorite bands, TWELVE TRIBES. I have been waiting for like two years to see them, and they absolutely ruled. I got to chat with most of the guys in the band after they got off stage. They were real nice, especially the vocalist. He chatted with me for about 20 minutes or so. That shit made my day.
After that, I went to a friends and hung there for a bit, and while I was forced to wear a ridiculous birthday hat, I had a good time. One of her roommates gave me a really nice amytheast (I think I spelled that very wrong), which was very sweet of her and very unexpected. That made me smile. I then was picked up and swept away to the Twilight Exit, where I received many free drinks and shots and ended up getting a little sick (I was smart and didn't have anything to eat since breakfast that day...smart I know).
The only downside to yesterday was that I had to yet again postpone my tattoo appointment. The show started way earlier than I had expected. Oh well....Thursday I shall get to be poked over and over for two hours by small needles, so it's ok.

I am currently in Idaho right now visiting my folks, which is cool. I only get to see my folks like twice a year, so I'm glad to be here. I had good conversations with my mom and my brother on the drive from boise to Idaho falls. It's weird coming back to your hometown, because it's no longer your home, but still familiar. You've changed and adapted to where you live now, but your hometown changes as well.....i dunno, it's just an odd sensation coming home.

hmmm.....it's late and I'm tired after flying and driving today....hopefully I'll have more to say tomorrow.

but first, a little something from Twelve Tribes:

The train bridge

Welcome to the inside, the dim lights of revolution personified, where your god is an assortment of colors and lines, In the city some days, I hear the train coming, like a three fold armageddon, swollowing time
I hear the ocean coming alive, the rain falls like gunfire, and the sky falls apart, you are not who you say you are, I am counterfit,
We live on top of the most beautiful world, It's not real, we're running out of time as it is
I am counterfit, save your breath, there are some places where the beauty does not reach
The rain storms flood the dead streets with innocent blood, drowning your salvation in the undertow of your god, what have you become
I remember to tread water, I'm not breathing in as I feel the ocean coming alive, I am less human inside
The streets run with the blood of the sanctified, nothing has ever felt so cold as the silence tonight, in the city somedays, I hear the train coming, I am waiting to destroy this image of life
We live on top of the most beautiful world, It's not real, we're running out of time as it is
My name will crash these walls, and you will know my name is revolution, for the last time

tigress:
You in a birthday hat=adorable sight biggrin

I feel the same way about visiting "home". I haven't done it yet but I'm sure once I visit NY again it'll feel absolutely strange to me.
