Picked up another shift at one of my jobs. This is good news for me and my impending plans of exodus. Idle time is an expensive plaything when you're not living indoors.
As a sidebar, I've joined a fitness center that has newly opened in the mall. The primary impetus initially was to have a place to take care of my daily hygienic needs without encroaching on the good graces of the people who would help a brother out, although I've found it to be a bit of a saving grace in more than a few aspects. It establishes a routine (which anyone who knows me knows I thrive upon), kills quite a few idle hours prior to work, and I'm finding the physical exertion -- particularly running -- to be remarkably therapeutic. I remember a time not too long ago when I would have found the prospect of my ever electing to run for pleasure to be quite outside the realm of the probable.
Life surprises us.
