I'm bad at writing but good at list!
1. Aside from feeling more out of place than I did in high school (that alone is hard to picture) and not really liking half of my staff my new job is going great, I come in and work my ass off (nothing less than 9 hours so far, mostly 10 hours a day) then get off exhausted and feeling completely drained.
2. Thanks to a laps in pay from one job to the next I have negative money right now, witch means I'm not eating much (read: at all) or doing anything that doesn't involve waking up and driving to work then coming home afterwards. The plus side to this is I've already started losing weight, people pay for this and I'm doing it for free! Fucken suckers!
3. My Neon completely broke down and kicked it, so now I have a new car and it's actually now a piece of shit. In fact it's not only the nicest cars I've ever owned it also rates pretty damn high up there with being one of the nicest cars I've ever driven. The only downside to any of this is I'm still the current owner of the neon and the new car is ... well ... it's a 4 door Chrysler Sebring. I'm the envy of mom's everywhere.
4. Thankfully I've been able to paint more despite the job and lack of cash thanks to a few friends lending me paint and all the free time being completely single allows. My camera isn't up for taking pictures of anything more than 5 feet away from it so I'm waiting for some kind of cash flow before I go drop off the disposable camera with some of my recent work on it. Hopefully the lighting will be fine.
5. This goes back to point number one but it's worth touching on by its self; going from working at Hot Topic to working at Aeropostale brings up almost ever cliche problem you could imagine when dealing with the the new staff. I very quickly learned to say 'I like rock music' vs. actually pointing out I listen to punk, hardcore, post-hardcore, jazz, etc. because the conversation following any of those terms just isn't worth it. I've also learned that under no circumstance is it a good idea to offer up any personal information about myself, and if asked it's probably best to keep it very general. Both of these things deeply sadden me because I just left a job where every other customer had the potential to be into any number of the things I am or into something so completely different I might even thing about trying it.
In the end I suppose I'll get used to it and learn to enjoy having a job that while demanding when I'm clocked in wont end up following me home (there is something to be said for that) or I'll just start looking for something outside of retail. If anything I'm really just bitter it took me so long to see how much I enjoyed Hot Topic and that I didn't work my ass off to try and move up fast enough in the company that this job offer looked so good to me.
Oh yea, being alone and poor bites a lot too. There's no way thats helping me to enjoy this new job when I'm surrounded by couples and hungry all the time.
