Sometimes your job can actually be really cool. Those are good days.

Sometimes I wish I were a robot. Then I could just unplug and shut down like Rosie in the Jetsons. I wouldn't have to think, wouldn't have to do, wouldn't have to feel. I think I drink to shut down. And I think I sleep to unplug. Stops the static in my brain and the high-tension energy in my veins.

Wireless networks rock! Thank you, neighbor.

Lesson: If you've been outside drinking, playing bocce, and hanging out in the sun all day, you don't really need to end the night at a bar just because a friend is DJ'ing.

The world is pulling apart at the seams. A friend is pregnant. Another friend's baby was stillborn. Two recently married friends are separating. And just last night I learned that two other married friends are separating because one partner had an affair. What the heck is going on?

Spent much of the last four days with S., and this Frank Sinatra song keeps running through my head:

Beautiful spring today. Read Michael Flynn's "In the Country of the Blind" in a park. Watched a 14-year-old white dog mosey around the basketball courts.
