A crazy, too-late night last night. Went to a design-related event at Moma, then stopped off at the Abbey on my way home. Got caught up in several fascinating conversations -- with the bartender, a comics artist, and a fellow I thought was Patton Oswalt, I think -- and made eyes at a cute girl before stumbling home. A have-trouble-finding-the-keyhole kind of homecoming. Woke this...

I swear this hardly ever happens, but seeing a commercial for Wendy's Mediterranean Chicken Salad on the TV last night made me want to try it for lunch today. So I did. And it was good. Funny how, every so often, adverts can actually inspire us to want or do something. I even dragged two friends along with me -- they got the Mandarin Chicken...

You know how sometimes you make after-work plans with several people you don't know that well because you've been trying to connect for a long time and it's just never happened? You know how some days, the work day ends with you extremely tired and hungry and you just want to go home? You know how sometimes it rains so hard that people scamper in...

Hope your travels go well as well. A couple of my best friends hit Italy last year and loved it. Actually went through a bunch of pictures from their trip last weekend. Another magical spot. Enjoy.
My birthday is this week -- and this afternoon I splurged on a little midweek treat: Andy Summers and Danny Elfman at Carnegie Hall. Since moving here, I haven't been to Carnegie yet (practice, practice), but as a longtime Oingo Boingo geek -- since grade school! -- I can't quite miss the world premiere of Elfman's first orchestral work not done for film. Too freaking...

In Fullerton, California, for the weekend. Cool, clear today. A good day. Came back to the hotel room, called my folks, ordered room service, and did some work for when I get back next week. Went down to the hotel bar for a drink and asked the bartender if they sold cigarettes. A woman working in housekeeping does: Two packs of Marlboro Lights for $5....

Back from a wintry week-plus in Wisconsin to absolutely no snow on the ground in New York. Bah. Stayed up late last night to watch the Wizard of Speed and Time, which I haven't seen for awhile -- wonderful stuff. In work for a few hours this afternoon even though the office is closed -- nice and quiet, catching up on 1,000-plus emails. Zoinks.

1000 plus emails! :s
Wonderful this week -- almost like springtime! Looking forward to the coming of snow, though, and my first NYC winter.
Rainy day. Sun has set, and auto horns sound angrily on 42nd eight floors below me. I'm torn. I'm supposed to hang out with a friend whom I haven't seen for awhile tonight, but I just want to go home. Fresh back from Dallas this noon, I have my suitcase in tow, and I got home to two new sets of steel shelves I could...

House sitting -- and dog sitting -- for Deb -- and Harpo -- again. Listening to a CD that came along with Mojo magazine, one of the best mags ever -- and watching Stargate: Atlantis. Geek Night!
Catching up here, I've been months away, and I've been catching up here on who's where and doing what. I've been up and down, down lately at work,...
