Find a big yellow box marked "City Paper" and check out the shows that are going on for a few of the places listed.

I suggest "the side bar", "otto bar", or "talking head" as good venues to check out.

I'm not sure if you are a drinker at all, but "Max's" on broadway over in the Fell Point area (not far from the harbor) has over 100 beers on tap alone and is a pretty hopping place at times.

but sometimes things are not as simple as they seem

Today is a day of all new strings on all guitars and recording smile Oh, and coffee with my loved one! And in between, just relaxing with The Trogg !!!!

She's my little girl - she's deaf, much of her spine is fused, curved all wrong - the rescued mutant offspring of two champion Boston Terriers - and more spirit than all three of her brethren...

Oh man, she is the awesss.

What are you doing Sunday night?
s_eldorado:
Man, that sounds like a fantastic weekend - Mr. Jet Set.

The Coppertank open mic's are great. Dino, Rebecca and Don A among others often play at them and we always have a good time.

So hell yeah, i'm up for going and up for singing. Especially Death Cab - although keep in mind you'd probably sound better singing it.

Let's try and hit the one on Nov 20 if you're free.

Three hours sleep Tuesday prepping for the seminar, then off to the Canucks game last night with clients... great game too!!! And now it's back to music, prepping for a few Xmas party shows, arranging lights and PAs, learning a few new cover songs: Queen Bitch, One Day In Your Life, 3rd Planet...

The wind is howling past my house today... I'm heading to the...

Today I feel lighter than air - I spent all day and night yesterday pulling EVERYTHING out of my closets, dressers, bookshelves etc. Then slowly put back, in a more organized fashion, only that which I simply can't live without.

I found a book my parents kept about when I was born: 6 lbs, 2oz; 6:22pm on Nov 20, '69, in Campbell River, BC (any...

Awesome. I love doing the purge thing.

And you're on for cliffjumping.

My parents live in Florida, hence the sunshine. Good luck with the seminar!

Having been tagged by MadScience here's 20 things about me - for better or worse...

1) I have a freckle on the inside of my right baby toe
2) In 1988 I drove a rusty old Suzuki Samurai 4x4 up Blackcomb mountain in Whistler, in the snow after leaving Tommy Africa's nightclub
3) I smoked pot with Lt. Governor Bustamontes son Evan while on a...

Hey bro,
I'm back in the world (for a week or two anyway). Sorry I didn't manage to get any cool pics, but we're going back for another month so I'll see what I can get then.

Nice ink. I'm still waiting for a clear schedule for my next tat. I had a buddy who got inked just before a training exercise once; man was that ever the worst infection. Not pretty.
geekgirl:
Cool tattoo - everyone in my family has recently (in the last few years) got the 'family tattoo' - which really make it too lame to get smile

Holden Caufield and post-traumatic stress - the 90s answer to Catcher in the Rye.

Thanks for removing my "geekgirl has NO friends" status ... made the geek part really fit. wink

hmmm, guinness, guinness, guinness (wonder if I can sneak one into the bath tub before the control freak I live with sees me .,. but then the fridge would be sadly devoid of guinness and I'd have to switch to kilkenny) biggrin

Recovered smile Just in time to receive the shiny new nano - yaaaaa. I think I might start playing more open mic nights, the last one I did was so much fun! I just love the nervous excitement beforehand - I think its actually scarier than playing with the whole band, being all alone and all... Must do that more often... my favorite song this week...

xixi:
where do you do play?
madscience:
I'm so disappointed. No crosswalk flags here in Salt Lake City, and I've walked all around this damn town. frown

However, they still do have the safest crosswalks I've ever seen: (1) they chirp at you when it's safe to walk, (2) the east-west crosswalks chirp differently than the north-south crosswalks, (3) when the red "don't walk" sign starts flashing, it tells you how many seconds you have left to cross the street (that kinda stresses me out), and (4) on the pavement, there are big signs saying LOOK with arrows pointing to the direction(s) the traffic is coming.

But I really wish they had flags. I was hoping to appropriate one for my own, um, safety, back home. (maybe that's why they got rid of them . . . ) wink kiss

surfbetty:
WOW! uhhhhh...yer drunk as fuck...you Canadians party too hard for my blood...I think you made a comment about the temp..i think? Glad you had fun...but 64 is still fucking cold. wink biggrin
madscience:
Hooray for drunkeness!! biggrin

My friends are in Vancouver right now. They had excellent sushi at Blue Water Cafe (I think), but were sorely disappointed with the salsa dancing scene. Apparently only 3 men truly knew how to salsa (this may or may not be an exaggeration).

I'm off to Salt Lake City and the ubersafe crosswalks this week!

Why don't we work 2 days and have 5 day weekends, what's wrong with us? When did we decide this was a good idea? Anyone else actually breathe a sigh of relief when they only have to do a 50 hour week?

I have discovered however, that it's all about shoes - whether they're on or off that is. Psychologically I think we're tuned to...

Right there with you man, footwear begone! (with occasional tactical exceptions for fuzzy slippers shaped like bunnies n stuff)

At the risk of ruining your footwear free mojo, I must demand that you attend Saturday night, and footwear will be necessary.

At least until the beers kick in.
