Life at the zoo has been amazing! I'm really enjoying it. I've been in the program for three weeks now and we are starting to get busy! My first year consists of classes and learning the ropes of the zoo, the animals and the proper was to clean and take care of them. My second year is when I get to put what I learned in the classroom to work. I get assigned animals to train, feed, and take care of. My favorites so far are the hyena, the red-handed tamarines, the California sea lion, the capuchin troop, the lioness......ok I guess I have a lot of favs haha. It's hard to pick out of the 200 animals. They are all awesome.


Our first hands on experience at the zoo. Learning how to tie the falconry knot when we perch out the birds of prey and owls. This is me with the barn owl.
