Last night was so friggin crazy, and it just had a lot of unexpected downturns.
I got home later than I expected from work and we ended up leaving the house a bit later than I wanted to. We got in to SF around 9 oclock, but it turn out to be okay because we hadn't missed much of the show; just the opening band. For most of the train ride there I wasn't feeling well either, so that was no fun. Luckily, that didn't last too long.
Once we got inside, we met up with Jade, who was to be our ride home, and she is a totally sweetheart. I was able to say hello to Dave H and JustSayFaux, and I got glimpses of all kinds of people, like Tuffy and Coco who I would have liked to have said hello to but didn't have a chance.
When the band started, it sounded promising. In my opinion though, it turned out to be rather lackluster and disappointing. By the time this second band finished playing, it was nearing 11pm. 2 hours into the show and no dancing SGs! Really, that would have been fine, if I had enjoyed the music more.
One the band finished and there was a short break, the show we all wanted to see began. It looked totally kickass and cute and sexy; the girls really are amazing to see in person.
When you can see them.
The venue has small tables around a balcony, but most of the main floor is standing room only. The stay was pretty low, and of course everyone is crowding up to be as close as possible. Not that its their fault really, but tall people somehow manage to find themselves in front of whomever it disadvantages most. In this case, it was myself and Kayla. I was able to catch some of the show from their necks up; I don't Kayla was able to see much of anything, which was a bit disappointment. Despite our attempts, we couldn't really get anywhere where either of us could see the stage well enough.
After the first series of routines where Tegan, Siren, Snow and Stormy did their thing (which maybe have been excellent... I'm not sure, since I didn't see much... From what I could tell, Stormy was looking sexy as hell, and Snow's routine and outfit was one of those great combinations of cute/innocent And sexy as hell) ... What was I saying?
Oh yeah. After that, the band came back out! They started to play a few more songs, "as the girls were getting ready for their next act" Okay, I understand that their may need to be a small break for the girls; but I totally didn't want to hear the band again.
After much discussion, we decided that we had had enough, and were just going to catch the train back home, so that Jade could stick around and have a good time. She was supposed to give us a call when she was leaving, and likely swing by the house and crash for some sleep, but we never heard from her; hopefully everything went okay with her. I feel bad that we changed our plans on her so suddenly.
So... we basically caught the train home, grabbed a quick snack, and fell right the hell to sleep. The day was super exhausting; and the sleep didnt help nearly as much as I hoped. Here's to hoping this coming weekend has bigger and better things in store.
Like having coffee with Jade and Kayla up in Sacramento and my favorite coffee house. =)
