I just watched Garden State again, not really the best idea when drinking and depressed....I want to find a girl to fall in love with! I miss that....the awkwardness, the silliness, the fun sort of nervousness.....I want a girl like Samantha....she's perfect.....My best friend is dragging me to a dance club Saturday night....I'm nervous, it's not really my scene...I'm more of a Pub or neighborhood bar sort of guy...but I'm forcing myself to go....I need to put myself out there if I ever expect to meet anyone. Oh well, my buzz has turned into sleepys.....goodnight all.....

My favourite bar is a place called Stark's (named after the famous Freda Stark, who danced naked bar gold body paint in an Auckland theatre in the 1920s), in the foyer of the beautiful Art Deco Civic Theatre. They do wonderful cocktails, and play jazz and blues, with comfortable red leather smoking couches. You'd love it
