This is so funny I have to blog it. I wrote yesterday about the wildlife here. So on the heels comes this short.
I work crazy hours so I am out late and never really think about it. I was coming home late last night and unpacking my laptop and paper work for the monthly notes and reports. Up here there have been a lot of reports of coyotes and such roaming the area . Not to mention two black bear sightings. So I am getting my gear out of the jeep when I notice out of the corner of my eye the reflection light makes on animal eyes. Soooo I slowly turn not to alert what ever it is I have noticed . Then I see there are about eight sets of eyes.
I figure I am in the shit now and about to be a news story so I reach back into the jeep to get my large flash light and a boot knife I keep there.
I hit the light which is one of those big multi-cell mag lights but as I flash it on the eyes they stay just out of reach of the beam . In my head I am going shit ,shit , shit . whatever they are they have me cut off from the open door to the house and are smart enough not to let the light blind them so I can run for it.
So do or die time I rush the eyes to try to run them off but they hold ground and stay just out of the light . But that move gave me just the running room I need to make the door so I fly full out to the house. Inside I hit all the flood lights and ground lights. Nothing. I look back out and the jeep is still wide open. I hit the door button and the horns blares as the norm to signal the doors locked.
I give about 20 minutes and head back out to lock the jeep. The eyes are back. This time I am ready I hit the flood lights and see to my amazement about 12 bunny rabbits in my yard eating the fallen apples off the trees .
I was so ashamed lol . I sat down on the steps and just watched them eat and watch me at 5am till the sunrise .How funny is that.
