It's so perfect when you remember all the possibilities of nihilism. I don't mean just standing on the edge of the abyss, staring into its blank darkness until it stares right back into you. I mean jumping, taking a running leap and pirouetting a dive right into its uncharted depths. Sin City is nihilism in its rawest form. Sin City is nihilism reminding me how shitty the world can become, how degraded and twisted it can look through the right and wrong eyes. Sin City is nihilism as it ought to be, burning and churning its way as morality's necessary and faithful sidekick. Sin City rips away everything you hold dear, everything you value, shows you their twisted and writhing innerds, and then throws them right back at you transformed into something even better than they were. Sin City smashes your morality with a wrecking ball, and when it seems as if nothing can possibly come out right, everything does in a shining moment of eucatastrophe. Sin City is eucatastrophe. Goldie smells like angels ought to smell. That yellow bastard stinks like rotten food. Sin City destroys the idols, but it hands you heroes. Sin City is what we are.

Wow, what a complelling review of Sin City. I'm gonna see it on Monday night but I don't think I can write so eliquantly about it. There is something about being an engineer that stiffles your writing abilities. -Dave

No -fear not- it was not related to Sin city... I haven't seen it yet! I am still SO excited. I'm going to take your word for it. wink
Look at you going off on intelligent rants pertaining to the movie. That makes me even more thrilled to go see it. biggrin
