So is it two months, or one month? I don't even know anymore. It has been a while. I figured I'd come back and let everyone know that I'm not dead...yet.

So you know how I spent a paragraph back in December talking about Feist? I totally saw her in concert Tuesday night in Charlottesville. I'm so in love! But can I say something about the Satellite Ballroom? This was my first trip there, and I never want to go back. They had a lot of technical problems, like microphone levels, and once Feist's guitar started picking some basketball game over the radio, but that wasn't the main issue. I knw that Charlottesville is a college town and that this was essentially a college show. I went to Roanoke College. I've been to a few college shows. These people were just assholes. It's like, I didn't pay 12 bucks to watch these people act like assholes. I paid my money to watch Feist rock the place out, which she did, but it was so distracting having to put up with a bunch of assholes. Have I mentioned any time ever just how much I hate assholes? I was very impressed with her set, though. I'd see her again, just not in Charlottesville. Her opening act was Josh Carborough, the lead guitarist of Broken Social Scene. He was wasted. Or sick. Or a combination of the two. He rather sucked. He forgot the words to one of his songs. His backing band was fucking awesome, though. If it had just been them it would have been a great set. It's kind of sad when you get upstaged by your backing band, and also when the opening act gets upstaged by the main act. Feist came out to perform a song with him and she stole his show. And then when Feist played "Let It Die," she brought out Josh and called up to the stage some girl whose birthday was that day, and Josh and the girl slow-danced. He totally grabbed her ass, and then when the song was over she ran backstage and he followed her. There's something upsetting about musicians who perform drunk. I don't even know if he was, it just seemed that way. But I want to see you perform your music. If you're going to be drunk while performing, you might as well go all out like Iggy Pop and puke all over the first row. Curses. But Feist kicks ass. I am dead serious about all of these bands that I recommend to you guys. Wolf Parade is a great CD. Feist has a great CD. These guys are awesome.

The next time I post may not be until after my next show, depending on how I feel in the next week. I'm going to see Stars again in DC on the 24th. And then Belle and Sebastian are playing in DC on March 5. And then it's Wolf Parade in Chapel Hill on March 14. It's quite an action packed month or so coming up. And then I'll get to find out about grad schools at some point in March. Crazyyyyyyy!

when we started, both broken hearted
not believing it could begin and end in one evening
when we parted, moving on
and believing it could begin and end in one evening
