So I've been gone a while, eh? I guess an update is due.

I saw Stars and Death Cab last night up in DC at the 9:30 Club. The show was broadcast live on NPR, so everything was kind of rushed to keep schedule, but they kicked ass none-the-less. I mainly went to see Stars again. These guys are fast becoming one of my top favorite bands. I think the show I saw back in May was better than this one, but it's probably because everything seemed a little rushed. They didn't talk much in between songs. Frankly, I could watch these guys perform in someone's basement, I love them so much. We made it to the show about an hour before the doors opened, so we were able to get the kick-ass stools on the third balcony. I'm glad, because the place filled up fast, and we weren't about to get up once the show began. There was some dumb-ass girl behind us who made my head explode at one point. Torquil Campbell said, "We're Stars from Montreal," and the girl was like, "Oh, they're from Montreal. That's why they sound like Arcade Fire." I wanted to turn around and be like, "Are you insane!?" Sometimes you just wish life was like Sin City and you could kick anyone's ass you wanted to, because you'd of course be the cool good guy and it's justified. Man, I love Stars. I have to admit that I'm not particularly a Death Cab fan, and I went to the show mainly for Stars. I'm just not very impressed with their albums, but Death Cab was tight last night. They performed very well. Great show all around. On the way back in the pouring rain my friend's driver side windshield wiper broke and sort of hung limp against the driver's side mirror, so he had to lean over and look out my side of the windshield until the rain stopped. Just imagine driving in a downpour at 2:00am, visibility already kind of screwed, but having to really work to be able to see. INteresting trip. I guess that whenever I go to DC to see Stars someone's car is going to berak. In May it was my power steering. Last night it was my friend's windshield wiper. Go figure.

I bought Shadow of the Colossus on Saturday. This is honestly one of the greatest games I have ever played, and that's including Half-Life and Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic. There are only two characters for most of the game - you as the hero and your horse Agro. All you do is ride Agro around a giant, beautiful landscape to find and slay 16 colossi. Each colossus is like a puzzle, so it's not a hack-and-slash button masher. You have to find out how to climb each one, find different vital points, and maintain your grip as he tries to shake you off so that you can stab him in these points. I've beaten seven so far. It's really kind of heartwarming and heartbreaking, because you're trying to bring a friend back to life by defeating these creatures, but these things really haven't done anything to you or anyone to warrant their destruction. Agro is one of my favorite video game characters of all time. He just follows you around and never leaves you. It's love. Such a great game. It has my vote for game of the year.

I also bought the new Sleater-Kinney today, so I have to listen to that before I crash tonight. What I've heard so far I've loved.

Good point about the angel thing...thanks for your opinion. I am just curious about the whole concept...I mean we just hear so much about it this time of year. I personally have never thought of them as something that people really believe in, but rather a fairy tale type of thing. My cousin honestly thinks they exsist...as do lots of Christians apparently. But I think alot of things that Christians believe are pretty outlandish.....like a "Devil" that makes you do bad things? Ha-ha, right.
biggrin
Have a nice T-day? Eat lots of food with the family?
ooo aaa

...no offense on the Christian commentary i hope?
