Worst.Day.Ever.

Not really. I just felt like quoteing Comic Book Guy. But my power steering did conk out on me again, so I had to take my car to the Tanglewood Firestone to have it fixed. I brought a backpack full of books and CD's and walked to the Starkey Mill Mountain, which isn't that bad of a walk from Tanglewood Mall. I just chilled there for the morning, made fun of my fellow employees while they had to actually work. I'm reading "Please Kill Me" by Legs McNeil, and got through a hefty chunk. This is such a good book, and enlightening in the sense that I now know just how fucked up many of my music heroes are. Lou Reed, for instance, writes awesome music, but he's actually (or was, I don't know if he still is) a perverted sex freak. Some of the stuff he wanted people to do to him - yeesh! And he tells some of these stories himself. The same goes for The Stooges, who I love with all my heart. Drugs out the fucking ass! Ron Asheton, with his Nazi uniforms and war medals, was the most level-headed of the bunch. I still love my punk, and if I'm anyting after reading this, I'm glad. I'm just glad most of them are still alive today. My opinion hasn't really changed regarding the music. It will always kick ass.

So I decided after three hours of Starkey Road to head back to Tanglewood and see what was playing at Carmike, and wound up catching the 1:30 "Serenity." It's really, really good. Whoever directed this and wrote it shows George Lucas how it's done. James Cameron could take a lesson from this, as well. It's one of those where I can't wait for the DVD to come out. I haven't been this way with a movie since "Sin City," although "Sin City" is leagues ahead of "Serenity."

It turned out there was just a leaky fluid gasket for the power steering, and they replaced the O-Ring free of charge because it was work they had done back in June. O-Ring's are pretty simple procedures, but just tell that to the Challenger crew. So in all, it wasn't the worst day ever. I just like saying that.

Worst. Entry. Ever.

Your 'makes me happy' section makes me happy. I used to quote that line all the time. I wonder how many other people catch that reference.
