Good luck with the Sceptre. It seems like a bike that should be saved. I have to do the same w/ my wife's old 500 Shadow, mainly so we can sell it & fund her next bike (she's outgrowing the Reeble). But I rebuilt that bike once when I had a garage, only to find that the frame was bent. Now we have a frame donor but no garage. It kind of sucks the ambition out to do-over in a shitty space.

Um, lens cap? No, on this camera you focus through the lens. If the lens cap is on and you look through the viewfinder, you'll see nothing but black. I've pulled the lens and clicked through the shutter speeds to make sure the pentaprism isn't sticking (it isn't). The other possiblity is a light leak. Or, hopefully, maybe I simply accidentally moved a setting while I was reloading film, since it's been a bitch to load lately.

I'm starting to come to terms with the fact that it's probably wearing out, so I want to find a barely-used one that's the same model.
