Well fuuuuck!

My leather pants finally arrived... and they don't fit. They're marked 38, and I wear a 38 or 40 waist, so maybe these pants use some sort of European measuring system or something...



I'm pretty bummed out about that, especially since I was so proud of the deal I got on them! Any time you spend less than $100 for something like this, it's a real triumph if you get something worth having, and these seem to be of decent quality... they're just too small. Back on eBay they go!

In other news, I've been working on my new (to me) shock absorbers:

Here they are next to my original shocks (which I never actually used, since I replaced them with some that were slightly newer and in much better condition before I ever got the bike to run)...



Since these new shocks were made for a totally different motorcycle, I have to adapt them to fit on mine...




Here I'm using my ultra sharp Japanese chisel to remove some of the rubber bushing (what could possibly go wrong?)





Here's where I started grinding on the bushings. I need to narrow them about half an inch so they'll fit my swingarm...




I must say, it's a lot of work but they're turning out pretty nice!
