Wanna know what's driving me absolutely bugfuck today?
The weather couldn't be more perfect. It's been 80 degrees or so during the day, about 60 at night: perfect weather for a motorcycle ride! I have a brand new tire, a brand new pair of clip-on handlebars... but my chain and sprockets are just used the fuck up. My back sprocket looks like a saw blade, my front sprocket looks like a throwing star, the chain is totally stretched out.

You can see how the chain doesn't even line up with the teeth:

Several of the rollers have broken on the chain, some are missing altogether:

If you look inside the front chain guard, you can see where the chain has rubbed. The gray strip in the middle is steel particles from the chain. (The brown stuff is lubrication wax that's been slung off, mixed with rust, and is somewhat normal.)

So I pulled it all apart... I couldn't ride it like that, anyway!

I took the opportunity to deglaze my rear brake rotor, then I spent several hours cleaning the wheel:

I tried to call Z1 Enterprises to order another set of sprockets on Friday afternoon, but they had apparently left early to go for a ride! (If any of you need parts for an older motorcycle, I highly recommend Z1!) The local motorcycle dealership would charge me twice as much and I'd have to wait at least a week for them to arrive, shipping from Z1 usually takes about two days.
Luckily, I traded a pickup truck full of firewood to my brother for a very nice chain:

To reward you, faithful reader, for reading this far, here's a picture of some titties:

Action Man rode his bike out today. I improvised a rear brake light switch for him and replaced his brake pads (he promises to feed me steak and whiskey soon, sounds like a deal to me!) Sorry, I didn't get any boring photos of the his motorcycle parts, so here's a rerun of him playing one of the frankenstein guitars that I built through the last amp I built (with a shot of his motorcycle... which I rebuilt last summer, hahaha!)
Enjoy!

it's worthwhile for me to note that I'm online an awful lot for someone who complains about a lack of time.
