This guy emailed me some notes that he'd kept from when he built a circuit like this, and of the 30 pages of stuff was a diagram. I looked at it and suddenly it made sense. I went out to the shop and made the changes, fired it up and it screamed!
Yes, I know the guitar is out of tune, and this doesn't sound really impressive, but this amp is loud as hell. It's very... muscular sounding. I'm going to play with it like it is for a while, then make some changes to see what it'll do.
I'm thinking about making another circuit board with different capacitors to see how much different it would sound...

I'll also play around with different styles of tone caps. The treble cap on the normal channel makes a huge difference in the overall tone of the amp:
