funeral is one of the best albums that i have heard lately. there's only one song on it that i think is weak, but it's only because the other songs are so good. the album as a whole works together so well. they're playing in austin in january, but i don't know if we'll make a drive down there for that (i bet it will sell out pronto). Neighborhood #2 (Laiki) is probably my favorite song. i love the lyrics... "when daddy comes home you always start a fight, so the neighbors can dance in the police disco lights". plus the laiki reference is so sad to me... i'm a sucker for well written, subtle, depressing lyrics (hence my fondness for radiohead, modest mouse, mogwai, sunny day real estate, blah blah blah...). tell me what you think when you listen to more!
