THE BIRTHDAY FIASCO
Or "Confessions of a Dumbass".
So I turned 37 yesterday. One year more... and one less, haha. Thanks to all you nice people who wished me a happy birthday! (You tolerate me! You really tolerate me!)
I was set to cruise up to Austin and pick up this girl and take her for a ride, a venture possibly culminating in some scenario...

I don't think I could handle that motorcycle...

It would be a very short ride!!

yeah.. I sold the seca to my neighbor last year to help pay for my sv650. I needed something with a little more guts as well as something that turns. so thats my comuter bike right now. I also have a garage full of cb750 parts that I'm in the process of building up to be a vintage racer. seems my extra money either goes to that or tattoos.
My early birthday present to myself has arrived! Excuse me, I'll be in my shop if anyone needs me...

Eh. I like the style of that bike, but I kinda think it's over priced. Then again, Harleys normally are.

We're each in carburator nirvana apparently! It seems that southbay triumph got my jetting pretty damn close right outta the box. Good thing too, because these each have three separate sets of jets. Egads. Once I got 'em in I only had a little bit of time to ride around, but holy crap, plenty more power EVERYWHERE. I was expecting some extra above 5K, but I assumed I'd lose a bit down low until I got the cams & headwork done. Not at all. If I hold the bike steady at 4K rpm then snap the throttle wide open it bogs for a split second, but from anywhere else 3K, 3.5K, 4.5K 5K, etc... the response is immediate and strong. yippie!

oh...sorry..i kinda sorta heard about the story..but i wasnt really paying attention...just something about 'mad max in san antonio."
Sorry I haven't updated, I've been riding my motorcycle! That's the good news. The bad news is that I'm in carburetor hell! The bike starts and idles fine but there's a massive dead spot from about 2000 to 5000 RPM, where the engine spends most of it's time when you're riding around.

yes, i think i made my theoretical scenario too extreme.
i think you're right ... there is, hopefully, at least one person who will "complete your world".
i wonder, though, if maybe there is more than one person ... more than one opportunity, to have that feeling. i think there may be several people with whom a person could be reasonably happy with.
the trick these days seems to be getting someone who is willing to try ......

I do have a decent buffer, or rather I did until it burned itself up yesterday
. That nyalic sounds interesting. I've tried clear powdercoating on other stuff but it looks too glossy & thick. I got some stuff called zoopseal that I'm going to try, it's not really a coating but a chemical treatment of some sort. That profile pic is superb!

Boo!!! How are ya?
