Had a great visit with my nieces this weekend, they really helped break me out of my funk! I heard that they were coming to visit, that they'd be here in an hour and suddenly I had a reason to take a shower and run the vacuum cleaner...

We had a great time! The weather was too cold and nasty to go outside much, so...

Instead of crying on Doodlebug's shoulder, I'm gonna spread it around a little.

I hate feeling like this.

That fucking infusion really takes it outta me, folks. Every month I swear I'm gonna quit the study, but then I remember that I'm getting free medical care from one of the leaders in the field of systemic lupus and every month I show up with...

How far do you live from one another? Yes she is very nice.

Well I would say a lot of KY are christens to, but there are a lot of Hindus and Buddhists and all other kids of religions also.

grrrrr FUCK!

I'm not going to the concert.

1) My buddy flaked out on me at the last minute.
2) I'm pretty broke.
3) Arthritis is kicking my ass with all the rain we've gotten lately.
4) I've seen Reverend Horton Heat at least twenty times.
5) Neko Case is coming to town in two weeks, I'll save my money and go to that show!

arthritis? have you tried omega 3 fish oil?

Current research strongly suggests overall health benefits including lower blood pressure, reduced asthma attacks, decreased joint inflammation (especially inflammation associated with arthritis), reduced effects from osteoporosis, and reduced risk of coronary atherosclerosis and prevention of excessive clotting of the blood and a bunch of other stuff.

I have an aunt who has crippling arthritis and went on the zone diet and has seen major improvements you should check it out.

Belated condolences on your feline friend.

And saving for Neko is worth doing, that's for sure.

Thanks so much to everyone for your kind comments over the last week or so, you really helped me. It's been a few days, and I'm better now. I still hear her sometimes, and that freaks me out a little. I still look behind my chair before I scoot back, then silently berate myself for it. Old habits...

I found a nice big rock that...

I just sent this out to about fifty old friends and family members.

It is with a very heavy heart that I deliver this sad news: My beloved cat, Precious, is dead.

Some of you knew her in person, some of you knew her by reputation. She seemed to have been loved by everyone who even heard of her.

I found Precious in a parking...

Dude, i'm really sorry, its truly horrible when someone you love dies, especially when you are so close to them.

You obviously gave her a far better life than she'd known before and that is the best you can do.

Maybe she'll meet my old cat scooby in the afterlife and he'll continue to take good car of her for you.
frenchkitty:
Damn, I forgot about the Rev playing this weekend!!! I'm so ridiculously broke right now. Are you going? They always put on such a fun show. . .and I'm sure you need to get out and have some fun, how are you holding up?

Yeah I had one that lived to be 15. She died 2 or 3 years ago. But they're cool cats.

she certainly still looks precious.

You have no income? Damn that sucks, how do you live, I have way to many bills, I have to work my ass off to pay them.

Well you are right, but I'm irrational, if Dust Bunny (my chinchilla) was old and sick and I knew he was going to die I would still take him even if I had no money at all, I know that is dumb but I do stupid shit when it comes to some things.

Is she doing ok today?

Fuck what anyone else says, she's your cat and you are doing a damn good job looking after her. Some people...I swear...
I know what you're going through, had the same thing with my dog two months ago. It's heartbreaking but you can't let them suffer for your own selfishness (well that's what I kept telling myself), she's going well enough now from what you're saying but I hope things don't deteroriate any time soon.
catdad:
I've discovered that there are too many self-righteous 'experts' in the cats group, so, regardless of what you do, someone will criticize it because they think they know better. I spend very little time there. You're in a tough situation, but 20 years is a long life. Take comfort in knowing you've given her a great home and taken her beyond the average lifespan. I've cried when I've had to put mine down (or even some of the strays who have been sick), but the time comes. You have to weigh the situation and do what's best for both of you.
