it's great to work while others are asleep, there's less interference about. that looks lovely!

I like to think that I'm moderately intelligent. . . .sometimes. . .but jeez, trying to wrap my brain around what you've just created is impossible. That's absolutely brilliant!

In case you weren't aware...

The Future of Music Coalition is a Washington, D.C. think tank which translates the complex issues at the intersection of music, policy and law, aiming to help (primarily independent) musicians with issues like intellectual property rights, health insurance, and the effects of corporate consolidation of radio and the music industry.

ha, i didnt really want to burn it but thank you for the advice .

its one of those saga p bass kits , i shouldn't have expected awesome quality for penny's .
im going to change the neck , because the holes already there for attaching it to the body where messed up
its like they drilled them wrong then re drilled them so the screws just kept turning .
its holding ok for now , i put glue in the neckholes when i put it back on

as for the pickups it all came prewired but i had rewired it following the wiring diagram on the stewmac website . it didnt make a single noise i tryed a different set of pickups and nothing changed . so i just ordered a rewireing kit , i think it was just my reckless soldering .

So what does it mean if you get into a HUGE fight with your best friend, then hate your own guts after you drink cheap whiskey? Is there some special significance I should be picking up on here?

I think maybe I'm just out of practice: It's been literally months since I've had a drop of alcohol...

Ah yes, the whiskey, remorse juice! If you're that out of practice perhaps a few warm up evenings with beer next time? Look at me giving advice as if I know anything about alcohol moderation.

it means you had fun!!

So when I finally get done rebuilding my amp, it should sound something like this:

turn up your speakers

Mike Ness uses the exact same amplifiers (blackface Fender Bassman Amps), but he has Billy Zoom from X hotrod them. My amp sounded a lot like that before I gutted it, except mine would make these odd pops and buzzes until I pounded on it...

Congrats on the new amp. Are you gonna use it, or sell it to somebody else?
sydfloyd:
Ha ha. I can't afford anything boutique.

I wouldn't even know what I'd want in an amp. Other than two separate OD1 channels with no OD2 channel. And master volumes are always nice.

_Tab threatened to pee in my shoes if I didn't feel better, so guess what... I feel better!

I just got back from town. My dad was going stir crazy, so we piled into the little Nissan, but the air conditioner compressor locked up and the belt caught on fire! The defroster/defogger setting relies on the air conditioner to blow dry air on the windshield,...

Wah.

I still haven't drawn the layout for my amp's new circuit, which is a real drag because I go tomorrow for my monthly infusion and I know it's going to incapacitate me for the rest of the week. I won't feel like messing with it, let alone be able to wrap my brain around it, nor should I be messing with any high voltages...

I put a Seymour Duncan Invader in the Bridge. I love it. It's sounds so rich. It bascially turned the bass knob of my amp into a "tone shift" knob. Or like, a "bass roundness" knob.

I'm probably gonna want something with a little less midrange for the neck pickup though. Something with more of a scooped sound.

I hope it's not too hard on you.

I have to admit, I love your 'how to's'. I can't fix or make anything to save my life. (That's not quite true, I could write you a nice hour long episode of your favorite show that would be pretty good...but that's probably not really the same thing now that I think about it.)
surlyclown:
Yeah, we would both be happy not having to get married, but it's the only way she can like work and make money and all that jazz. Damn government.

man, that's a hard road you've traveled.
how i wish i could get you to hot rod my amps, i'm sure your work is awesome!
jonnytrrrash7:
I have a Mesa Boogie combo (1 12", i'm terrible with model numbers and shamefully haven't fired it up in a while) a Music Man 210 65 watt combo, and a vintage Orange half-stack. I had someone place a second volume knob in the head, thus ruining its collectable status, but otherwise you'd have to crank it way up to get some overdrive action! a friend actually found the cabinet years after i had found the head.
