Wanna know what's driving me absolutely bugfuck today?
The weather couldn't be more perfect. It's been 80 degrees or so during the day, about 60 at night: perfect weather for a motorcycle ride! I have a brand new tire, a brand new pair of clip-on handlebars... but my chain and sprockets are just used the fuck up. My back sprocket looks like a saw blade,...

I'm a little better today. I've been awake for about an hour and I can already tell a difference from this time yesterday.
It's hard to keep a sense of perspective about this stuff. While experiencing the headache, nausea, exhaustion and diarrhea it's hard to remember why I go through it. I go once a month and get this experimental medication which knocks me on...

No I didn't . . .YET! haha
I decided that overhaul must go on hiatus until I'm more financially stable, or once I've upgraded and that will be my pet project. I'm still determined to do it though, especially since I've noticed a huge jump in the number of GS-es in my area. I must one up them all.

Yay, a productive day! Go you buddy, two awesome results for you, and very well deserved I might add ;-).
The attitude you encountered at the Yam dealership was hugely disappointing. I'd thought that type of spivish behaviour was a uniquely British problem dating back to the rationing years of the 1940s when retailers thought they were doing you a favour by selling you something whereas service in the 'States is usually very good and customer focussed. Sad news that you have a few too. But great that the Honda dealer was so much better, and great that your got some well-earned kudos for that awesome machine! The Zed (and I will insist on calling it that, hehe) looks great now. My only comment I still think a single seat unit would be great!
Good deal with the Metz rubber - and good too that it matched the front one well. I guess all the Dunlops are made in Japan now. Dunlop still have UK factories but I think they do all the non-tyre stuff. aviation hydraulics and whatnot
Great news with the job too!

PrettyVacant, you probably shouldn't even read this one...
I don't do this very often, but I'm going to devote a blog entry to promoting a local musician.
If you like Neko Case, Regina Spektor, Feist, Bat For Lashes, Jolie Holland, Cat Power, and artists like that, you owe it to yourself to check out Samantha Crain. I'm stunned to find that an artist of...

holy shit this is weird and extremely funny. I'll write a full journal on it but don;t have time right now. Up on youtube I've got a little video of the first time I started the motor (complete with huge exhaust leaks from not plugging the smog pump inlets in the heads, but whatever). So I get this message from someone on youtube saying that the video is very cool and how do you start a motor for the first time with no gas in the carb? So I write him back and say "just pour an ounce and a half or so of gas down the primary float bowl vent. either that or just keep cranking till the fuel pump fill the bowl assumeing you've got a manual fuel pump." So I get home today and I've got another message from him. "Hey I was wondering if you could drain your carb and make a video of you cranking the car and pumping the gas pedal until it starts." I'm just about to send a quick note telling him to go piss up a rope, who's got time for that and what the fuck for? but I do a quick click on his videos. THE GUY HAS A FETISH FOR CARS THAT WON'T START AND PEOPLE CRANKING AND PUMPING THE GAS. dude. that's seriously funny. you'll laugh your ass off when I link the videos in my journal, this is going to be stellar.
sonic_tooth:
hm. that Samatha Crain is pretty sweet, and I tend to shy away from acoustic stuff.
and I can't wait until I'm fluent enough to understand all that's being said in that video. she makes me want to go fuck shit up. but, you know, in a good way.

No news is good news, right? If there was anything to worry about, they would have called me by now.
So how are y'all doing, anyway?

Wow, not knowing can't feel good, but I'm sure it's like you say. Any bad news would have prompted them to call you before now. You might follow up with them, though. I don't think it's out of line to want to know what's happening. Good luck with this.

I checked out those links...that place by RC sounds totally wicked and weird...strange stuff. I have to get some photos. One problem I think I was having was, the morning started off cool and heated up really bad on us then it was raining off and on so the camera was fouled a bit. I do use digi for my pics and I learned that same trick...problem was some of the pics just didn't take at all whether flash or no flash, 1mb or 3...etc. I played around, and it just wasn't working.
I can't ride my moto right now...I don't have insurance on it and my permit expired and I got nailed at an excessive speed which is why I let the insurance run out...it won't go against my car license and they can't raise my rate now and I dropped everything...i got nailed for 'failure to obey a traffic sign" and the penalty was high fines for what I did but low points...i was traveling FAST!
So i took a different ride...
Nice view and nice day!

Hey, thanks for the links!
That's some peice of work you've been doing - quite transformative effect! The rearsets - pretty innovative solution you came up with there! And y'gotta love clip-ons a a nekkid bike... looking good, and good to hear the beneficial effects on handling and stuff. Loved those arial pics of your neighbourhood....and the routemap... i must have a go at doing that too. I reckon a single-seat conversion would suit your bike really well... for a real cafe racer effect... or something , hehe.
Thanks also for that great movie footage -yes, that's a favourite scene! " I don't wanna be your buddy Rick, I just want breakfast" is something i find myself re-enacting versions of some frequency....
Yay for kitties!
Any news since the last post on those blood tests? Fingers crossed..
Anyway... just back from an 8 mile run on an uncommonly warm September day... so shower time i think-
catch y'l8r buddy!

so what did the doc say? hope all is well. funny you mention standing in lines making you panicky. when i get stuck in a long line i get irrationally impatient even if i am not in a hurry, start sweating, and am firmly convinced everybody is staring at me like i have no right to be there. which is why i go to the grocery store late at night. probably why i never go clothes shopping either. i do feel totally fine at Petco, but i guess i figure people are looking at my dog and not me.......
I have to go back for more lab work tomorrow, seems they didn't like something about my blood...

The bike looks great. The bars look kinda funny to me though, they look so low now.

Ok. Not really. The purring is sweet. The snoring is more like ... you know ... irritating.

whatever, snoring cats and dogs are cute.

it's worthwhile for me to note that I'm online an awful lot for someone who complains about a lack of time.
