I spent the Labor Day weekend in Dallas with the beautiful sillyokio. It was a really fun weekend filled with strange fish and jousting.

Yeah.

Saturday we went to the Dallas World Aquarium which was very very cool.



I hadn't been to a zoo or an aquarium in at least ten years so I was excited to go and stare at the critters and take pictures of them with the camera on my new phone. (I about drove okio nuts because I was constantly screwing around with my phone)

We saw some big crocodiles:

And this little guy (He was maybe 6 or 7 inches across):


There were some really pretty tree frogs (I couldn't seem to get any better pictures)


I don't know what kind of fish these are. I just kept referring to them as "Grumpy Fish" because of their dour expression. There were these two white ones and a red one that marched back and forth in front of these two on the bottom of his tank. I've got a short video of him walking on his fins, I'll try to upload it later.


There were some colorful underwater tentacly things.




And some penguins.



Saturday night we went to Medieval Times. If you don't know, Medieval Times is sort of like dinner theater. You sit in an arena where you are served a medieval style meal (meaning lots of greasy meat and no fork) while you watch a show. There's jousting and sword fighting and such. Each section is assigned a champion that you cheer for. Ours was the Green Knight. He was also the villain of the show so we got to cheer for the bad guy, which is awesome.

They also serve beer in really big glasses. Which is also awesome.

Sunday I got some work done on my tattoo. It's starting to look really bad ass. I can't wait to get it finished.



The rest of the weekend was spent watching movies and playing video games (mostly). Geometry Wars 2 on the 360 is hella awesome, btw.

I stayed until Tuesday (okio took a day off, 'cause she's awesome like that). Now I'm impatient to go back.

So that's what I've been up to. Stop bothering me you bastards.

I can say from personal experience that the Dallas World Aquarium is, indeed, awesome.

Also, those fish kinda look like lionfish, but not quite.

Also also, I've wanted to go to Medieval Times since I first watched The Cable Guy.

I love the Dallas World Aquarium! I went 2 years ago when I was in dallas and I loved it. It's pretty cool that they have liquor in there, too. biggrin Did you know we're in the same town?
