So I was in the ER all night.

The area where I had the lumbar puncture was leaking and was giving me a severe "spinal" headache as they call it becasue my cranial pressure was dropping. BuffinMuffin took me the ER where my mother was waiting for me. I got there at 2am and couldnt see well or sit upright and i was extremely nauseous. They couldnt find a Dr. who could do the "blood patch" i needed. A blood patch is where they take 15 cc of my blood and inject it into my spine around where they did the lumbar puncture...the blood then creates a high pressure area and prevents further leaking. They gave me morphine and phenergan and i slept until about 10am and then they took me to get the blood patch.

My head feels much better now but my vision has gotten a bit worse and my back is killing me since they have had to go into my spine twice now.

The compression I had on my brain had caused my pituitary gland to go bezerk so I had gained alot of weight lately and have had other hormonal problems. The medication and treatment has caused me to lose 8 lbs in 2 days already. They said I had something similar to Cushing syndrome or something like that where I got moon face and had a lot of water weight on my body....I was wondering why I had gained so much weight lately. confused

They want me to get upright some this evening so that is why I am on the computer now. I am off to rest....Thank you all for your well wishes...Hopefully i will feel alot better tommorow. ooo aaa

Wow. I've had a lumbar puncture before, so I feel a tiny fraction of your pain, but two in one day...yeesh. eeek

I hope they soon have you feeling even better than before. Be well!
