Must type fast...bad head problems
Well i went to the Dr today and they looked at me and immediatly saw that my optic nerves were buldging from the back of my retinas becasue of increased cranial pressure....their first diagnoses were:
1: pituitary brain tumor
2: benign intracranial hypertension aka pseudotumor cerebri
3: intracranial hypertension due to my c-spine fusion
They sent me for an MRI with contrast dye which came back negative for the pituitaty tumor. Next they sent me to have my vision mapped to find out where i am missing my vision...it seems my optic nerves are pushing out and making blind spots...i also have some peripheral vision blind spots i didnt know i had...
The funnest part of the day was going and having a 30 minute lumbar puncture/spinal tap to releive the pressure on my brain. Joy...
Most people have an intracranial reading of 10-12 (of some unit) and my reading was 31.7 (of some unit) They then took off 20 cc's of spinal fluid (usually 9 to 12 is taken off)...
I have to take a medication called Diamox to decrease the production of my spinal fluid ot see if this helps...If it doesnt or it gets worse I may have to havea permenant shunt put in from my brain to my abdomen.
They dont know what causes this...they said it wasnt my neck surgery.
i am not feeling too good now...must go lay down
