Once upon a time in a land called January 2005, I moved in with a friend from school who needed a roommate. Our place was in a rather shady area of town, but it had many pluses.
It was 3 blocks from school, which was incredibly convenient for those of us who didn't have cars at the time. Also, his girlfriend and her roommate lived below us, and we only connected to other units by the bathroom, which made our top floor corner apartment a great place for parties (especially when combined with how close we were to the school)
Perhaps the greatest plus of all was that his girlfriend had an incredibly beautiful roommate. I've had a crush on her since the day I met her.
Now before you go saying, wow that's a long time, you must know that none of us still live in the building, and that at the time I had a serious girlfriend whom i would never have thought of cheating on.
Now I am single, and I happened to see Jess (the hot roommate from downstairs) at school earlier in the year, and it turns out she's working in our Student's Association office. So I've been visiting her from time to time, going for smokes together and chatting. But what I'm confused about is that I can't read any vibes from her (probably due to a 3.5 year break from caring about vibes that girls were giving off) and I am absolutely terrified to ask her out for fear of rejection. We've talked more and more over the last while, and the other day we actually hung out and chatted for like an hour and 15 minutes, which I think is a good sign, cause she certainly didn't try to chase me away or anything.
