went to the gym for the 1st time in a while- was nice but i'm still a little weak so i only did 20min cardio + stretches and stuff.

do you work out?
ever did?
and if so- what do you like to do?

i like the feeling of cardio although it's a fucking bore without good music, and the big macho guys who run my gym insist on gay-club house anthemes. (i haven't heard a single original melody in those- they simply dig back to a pop song that made it, stick a eurotrash beat on top of it and that's it- done! puke )

it's a shame 'cause the right kinda music makes me work out 10 times as hard.

favorite tunes- for heavy bag workout-Dark Breakbeat/Jungle (no Dn'B- i can't stand that usually, i'm talkin' about JUNGLE! the kind with DUB base lines and complex rhythms)

for running- film soundtracks- energetic ones by john williams hans zimmer and james horner- especially training montage/tournament music (rocky, blood sport, karate kid...)

for the life of me, i can not understand how people work out to happy music- how the hell can you be agressive with that kinda stuff?!?

I have heard about those boot camp style things. eeek They scare me! I actually like a good hike with lots of elevation gain. That really gets my heart and lungs working in a good way. I have to be careful with cardio stuff, cause my asthma sometimes makes me go all gaspy and fish out of water like. Poor lungs. frown

I did a lot of bikram style yoga for about 2 years, but it got $$$$$$, and I really felt that I wasn't gaining any depth to my practice, so I'm currently looking for a new style and instructor. (One of my good friends has had wonderful experiences with a Astanga studio, so I may give that a go for awhile.) In the meantime, I just practice the postures that I learned in bikram, but slower and deeper and without the heat and sweat.

I did get to check out a few of the samples before the website went away. (Where did it go? Will it be back?) I assumed that it was the mysterious project that you had to put on hold. I really hope that it will be back, so I can experience more as it evolves.

My aum is my tattoo, which I got at the end of October. My artist said that it might need a retouch after it healed, (which she said she would do for free) and it does need a little more fill in work, so I will get a fresh boost of ink and endorphins this evening. Yay and ouch!

I love working out, I've been doing a couple of sessions a week for the past four years now. I tend to do a cardio session in the gym at the beginning of the week. For that I agree, good aggressive industrial music is a must to pound those feet to. I run to forget, to break free (and stomp on all the things that are really fucking me off!).

For my resistence session I like something with a more definite rhythm, instrumental film soundtracks are great. I need a different type of passion for resistence training than I do for cardio work. For cardio I need bubbling anger and self determination. For resistence I need something deeper. When you understand how each part of your body is working with each stroke, the feeling of power is immense. I feel as though I can do anything, like i'm tapping into all of the energy around me.

I also go to a kick-boxing class (although I've been letting that slip recently-bad bad bad Squiggle). For that I like angry girl punk!

For flexibility I do Astanga yoga, love metal is great music for this...powerful but chilled!

So, that's what I like to do. Unfortunately uni work is dominating my life right now so the fitness regime has suffered somewhat frown

I love the feeling that my body has when I ve been regularly working out..it's like I'm in control of everything...I can feel everything working. that feeling reminds me who I am.
