I want to know what Stellastar is too.

Jarvis Cocker and the Cure? That's a potent sounding combo. I'm glad you two enjoyed yourselves. Sounds like you could use a cheering up of late.

*sigh*

Today my wife found out that she didn't get this job she was up for... it really sucks. She had been called back *twice* and her interviewer even told her she was his first choice! She hasn't talked to him yet, she just got a voicemail saying they ended up going with someone who had more experience.

It really sucks, because we were going...

you have to be one of the sweetes husbands ever!!!!! if she could just read how much you care for her i bet she would start to feel better. i just went through the same thing and it does suck when you're made to feel that you have something in the bag and then it's just ripped from you. and all they cansay is well it's not my final decision. it's such crap... i wish people would just be honest up front and things like this won't happen. and good people wouldn't get their hopes up for nothing.

i hope your wife knows exactly how much and how deeply you truly care for her.
xartificialnight:
Aw why thank you. I think they'd tourn out better if someone else was taking them. Hopefully that will be the case next time. But thanks again!! biggrin

*sniff*

PistolKiss seems to have left the site for a while... frown

I hope she and her hubby come back soon!
trixel:
Never encountered PistolKiss, but I see the path she left: she's obviously missed.

*hug*

Went to see Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind tonight...

...see it. I am convinced Charlie Kaufman is a genius, his screenplays are so highly original it amazes me. And this one is a really touching story about *real* people and *real* relationships.

Excellent fucking movie.

Thanks for the advice. smile
xartificialnight:
How was that movie? My friends have had mixed emotions about it. Some loved it and some were a bit...'ehh...' I guess you could say towards it.

Sometimes I wish I could forget him. Oh well...

And thank you for the welcome!

Just got back from the HoB where I saw a triple bill... it was nostalgia night... the first band, The Pleased, were contemporary... but they were followed by Berlin, and the headliner was the Psychedelic Furs.

Ah, what a trip down memory lane. Made me think of making out in my car during study hall... smile

In dreams, I am light.

When I step, my body glides, leaping. Im a dancer in slow motion. I am an animal running. Both of my feet leave the ground as I move with perfect fluidity in stark contrast to the gravity of waking life.

When I was a fat kid, my parents tried to bribe me to lose weight with an incentive program. Lost...

Wow. I am very moved by this, and I relate, too: I have been all over the place weight-wise. I was even once sort of a bodybuilder, and it is amazing to reflect on the different ways others view and treat you when you embody the societal ideal (as I apparently did to some degree - when I was unnaturally tan and pumped and vain and ridiculous!) versus when you more accurately reflect the larger whole of society itself, i.e. are somewhere in the "normal" category, which these days must include "chubby" or "thick" or whatever other euphemism for moderately "fat" you prefer to the blunt reality.

I say as long as you are not morbidly obese and therefore in danger of health problems, give yourself a break. The world is hard enough without giving power and priority to your own unfounded guilt. But that's just my two cents; spend them how you will.

Again, beautiful piece above. I'll be back to read more!

Damn... I didn't do a damn thing this weekend, and you know what? It felt *awesome*!!

The wife and I just sat on our lazy asses, ate good food and watched movies all weekend long. Just what the doctor ordered...

Ah... the first day of work. Nothing was ready for me... no computer, no phone, no desk... smile

But the people I will be working with are all nice, and my staff seem to be great as well. My only concern is that one of my staff members had actually applied for my position (he was interim) and now that I've been hired I hope there...

I am excited about starting the new job on Monday though... the getting up in the morning will probably take some adjustment, but the job is pretty damn cool. And lord knows health insurance and a steady paycheck...
