I've done some video work, just amateur stuff with my friends. So the only scripts I've written that were film-related were for comedy skits I would film with my friends. I'm looking forward to the live stuff--if all goes well I'll have four actors together to workshop my script on Tuesday. And as soon as I have the performance dates locked down I'll spread the word.

Ah... another holiday weekend come and gone, and I didn't get any rest! But that's okay, I had a really close friend come from out of town and we got to chill all weekend, which was nice. And I got to see things exploding from a boat on the lake, which is always a bonus.

I thought it was interesting because hunters always try to say "Hunting is natural, it's part of human evolution, our ancestors hunted..." which is true, but that strikes me as such a bullshit answer to defend your hunting. Our ancestors didn't stalk deer remotely with scopes and high powered rifles. And trophy hunting...

I completely agree about hunting, but like you I do admire the "ethical hunting" standpoint. I personally abhor hunting and would never participate in such a thing. Yeah, our ancestors hunted - they didn't have much of a choice! We have so many food choices now, so much more information. We're reading "Fast Food Nation" for my research writing class, and I predict we'll all be vegetarians by the end of the quarter! My sweetie is veg, and ever since I moved in with him I'm certainly eating better and feeling better. Whenever I do eat meat, I just don't feel right afterwards. I'm starting to weigh the so-called benefits vs. the drawbacks of meat-eating, and making a serious committment to vegetarianism is looking better and better all the time...
So you're getting married? Congrats! When I was married (20 years ago, good god!!), we got the whole thing done for $1000. Not quite sure how we did it (well, my mom did most of it). The cake was done by an "independent baker", we kept the flowers to a minimum. I dunno - it was a small wedding and we didn't feel the need to throw a big to-do. We were divorced 4 years later anyway... So my advice would be: keep it simple, throw a big party afterwards, and remember that the marriage is more important than the wedding (jeez now I sound like Dr. Phil...).

Ah, wedding planning... it's an amazing hassle. I had no idea that the wedding industry is such a scam! Anyone of the married SG members out there have any wedding planning advice, or horror stories to share?
Insomnia. It's a bitch. It's not that I don't *want* to go to sleep, I do... I really do. But I just can't... it's horrible. And what's worse, I'm so exhausted, I can't really concentrate enough to actually get any work done... so it's just wasted time spent in a haze.
Another long weekend draws to a close, and I'm tired! I had visitors in for the weekend. We didn't do a lot of exciting things, but staying up extremely late, catching up with old friends is always cool...
