Lieutenant fuckstick....Figures you leave just as soon as I get back. I arrived home the 26th. My family lives near Worms, just south of Frankfurt and 40 clicks outside of Wiesbaden.

Heyo guys. Its your best-est buddy in the world, Grimjack (also known as Jimmy McHugh to some of you on the list) with another super-awesome music related update. But, before I get into that, I was hoping to clarify a few things first. For starters, some of you might be wondering why Ive decided to start putting these little news-letters/blogs together. Well, to be simple...

Maybe I should use my energy to catalog my music instead of mope around the house.....
....nah. Because the latter drives monkey boy CRAZY and thats so much more fun.

A new album i purchased recently and can't get enough of is the Gossip. I have everything, but this last one is so amazingly good. I mean, it even dips its toe into discuss but still rocks harder then most of the crap out there. I seem to pepper this album between repeated listening of the Detroit Cobras, because nothing cures the blues like a well-piped blonde woman.

Hey there stranger!

It's been a couple of weeks since my last lame ass diary entry. So, I figured that I'd do a quick update for those two readers that actually give a flying fuck about my postings. In a few days, Ill have a nother full music posting, just for those same two people, BTW.

For the most part, I've been trying to catch up on my...

It's been a busy week, I must say. Pat's Steaks, live music, and crazy ass Thunderstorms have really been making my life a tad bit crazy. But, I've survived, and I have a few more musical tidbits to share this weekend:

Electric Eel Shock http://www.electriceelshock.com or http://www.myspace.com/beatme for the MySpace Music Lover you in). - These guys have earned the moniker of 'Most Loved Japanese...

but whatever.

no, we hadnt planned on going to the show saturday at the kyhber,
Theo and the Skyscrapers is the girl from the Lunachicks band right?
they any good? perhaps we'll venture out.
aponia:
yes...what Aaron said above. Are you going to the show on Saturday? I like giant scary women, and she's definately of that stature...
I'm also checking to see if Seanie boy would be interested, since he's become a rock n' roll animal!

Woot man. got to see The Twilight Singers last night. Of course, it was a fucking awesome show. It always shows you how good a band truly is, when you can see them for 5 years straight and STILL be blown away by the music. Greg Dulli is by far one of the most versatile and talented musician/singer/songwriters I've ever known. Last night's show including...

Last night was super super fun! I'm glad we went! The band was really good!

Even thought the naked drummer was a bit scary.

This was originally a post to my bud shadyvito but it seemed worthy enough of a full Update in the old Blog-o-sphere.

What's been in my current rotation as of late has been the newer tunes I've picked up. Alot since I got back from SxSW. It seems that Punk'nRoll has really been pushed to the forefront of my music listening experience as of late....

OK...I've been busy as shit, or so it seems. Work has been non-stop (not a bad thing, actually) making the week go by fast. On my last few days off, I've spent it cleaning house, listening to music, and taking care of my Mother's two houses. I also made a side trip yesterday to get my hair cut and visit my Grandparents' gravesite.

I know,...

I need one really great, knock my socks off, suggestion of a band that I should check out. I want your absolute best suggestion.
shadyvito:
As far as my favorites go there are a few alblums that I listen to the most:

Eryka Badu Live
The Casulties newest
all of Sublime's
Flogging Molly Drunkin Lullibies
Diana Washington with Duke Ellington
Violent Femmes self titled alblum
all of Clutch's alblums
all of DRI's
Slayer South of Heaven
and anything by Louis Prima and Keely Smith (I saw her in Vegas like 10years ago and she sounded as good as she did in the fifties)

These are my goto alblums that I listen to on a regular basis. As you can see, I like everything. So tell me your absolute favorite.

Wow....I've never been so bored with SG in the two years that I've been a member. Conversely, I've been seriously active with MySpace. For about a year and a half, I really didnt do squat there. I maybe met one or two people, but never really got into the 'finding friends' bullshit. However, I've gotten into the music aspect of it...finding bands, labels, and...

I'm only on myspace because one of my best friends doesn't have access to a phone anymore, but she has Myspace and internet at her job and at home. Other then that, I can't really be bothered by it.

And I'm so glad I started getting into Johnny Cash a few years ago. All with a chance purchade of his "16 Biggest Hits". It was a cheap and poorly packaged compilation, but I fell in love with the man.
akirali:
Thanks for the offer, but I really want to buy all the Cash stuff I own. Although your opinion on what to get next would be greatly appreciated. In addition to the above mentioned compilation, I also have American IV, and Unearthed. I know I need bot of the live prison albums, but what would you suggest after those?

I just came from the RIVERBOAT GAMBLERS shot at the NorthStar. It was fucking AWESOME. If you didnt go, you're fucking stupid. Just figured that I'd share.
shadyvito:
Did you at one time mention a band call The Kings of Nuthin? I can't remember where I heard their name before. I just watched a video of them playing at Skatetopia and they sound pretty good.

Here's the clip

Thanks for the b-day wishes. smile Did you enjoy Rock'n'Rods?
