I just got back from a two-day snowboarding trip to the Poconos (Elk Mountain). After 8 years of sitting on my ass, I finally got up and out...and it was goddamn fantastic, if not seriously painful.

Fell on my ass a few times, but that didnt hurt as much as the goddamn rental boots I HAD to use. They came with the rental board which only used the Lock in plate binding system. Thats a pisser since I've got my own boots that are broken in. To add fuel to the fire, the lock on binding system is a fucking PAIN IN THE ASS to use on a mountain. There is just no fucking way to keep your balance while trying to NOT slide as you desperately try to stomp your boot in. Goddamn retarded it was...and took up too much of my valuable energy and patience. I almost bought my own board right there and then, but they didnt have anything over 158 in size.

Anyway, the snow was good, and I did get a few good runs in. Wrecked my body, though...hopefully it'll be healed up when I head back up to the moutains next week. I intend to make up for lost time like you wouldnt believe.
