Been listening to old school punk lately. Here's a taste of The Germs:
Lexicon Devil
i'm a lexicon devil with a battered brain
and i'm lookin' for a future- the world's my aim
so gimme gimme your hands-
gimme gimme your minds
gimme gimme this-
gimme gimme that
i want toy tin soldiers that can push and shove
i want gunboy rovers that'll wreck this club
i'll build you up and level your heads we'll run it my way cold men and politics dead
so gimme gimme your hands-
gimme gimme your minds
gimme gimme this-
gimme gimme that
i'll get silver guns to drip old blood
let's give this established joke a shove
we're gonna wreak havoc on the rancid mill
i'm searchin' for something even if i'm killed
so gimme gimme your hands-
gimme gimme your minds
gimme gimme this-
gimme gimme that
empty out your pockets-you don't need their change
i'm giving you the power to rearrange together we'll run to the highest prop tear it down and let it drop...away...
Darby Crash is the man...
Yesterday, I finished the pain in the ass taste of organizing and alphabetizing my CD collection. In the 15 years I've collected the little silver disks, I've never put them in order like that. I've always kept them in order of when I bought them....so I basically could tell you what point in my life I was at by looking at my CD's. But it became too much...I couldnt find music, forgot about other music that I had, etc. Now, its in order. Blech.
I was really surprised to see what letter of the alphabet had the most music within it. 'S' took the lead spot, with a majority of the discs. The next most encompassing letter was 'M', followed by 'P'. There were no 'Z's in my collection, so the least amount of discs was for the letter 'X' with the band X. Neato.
So, what are you listening to today?
On tap in the household:
1. Iggy and the Stooges - 'Raw Power'
2. Rancid '...And out Come the Wolves'
3. Germs - 'Anthology'
4. Afghan Whigs - '1965'
5. MC5 - 'The Big Bang'
