Lou and Jason and a drum machine are playing next month, yes you guessed it, the Khyber. I met the woman that books the shows last night and gave her much kudos on the great job bringing in so many different and talented bands. They just want my money, Im sure.
ANYWAY...checked out the Stellastarr* gig last night. Almost ended up getting there late. The band went on earlier than the usual khyber headline. So, I missed the first song...also, I didnt actually make it into the room where the gig was until the 4th song. It was PACKED. And the people that attended the show were just too polite to push in...so tons of folk were crowding the doors instead of making room inside the hall for themselves. So, just before I headbutted my way in the manager of the bar, Lisa, scooted me around the backway. She's so goddamn cool, its unbelievable! So, we saw the rest of the show from the back. Still close enough to see the really hot woman playing bass, and the sound was exceptional. Really, a great gig. Damn glad I went.
Friday, its Don Caballero, Thursday The Twilight Singers at the North Star. TOTALLY looking forward to Greg Dulli's performance. He's just so goddamn cool.
