As usual, here's my lyrical goodness for this weeks Journal. A little bit of Soul Asylum for you to ponder over:
I was tapping my foot on a friday night
To my favorite band i was pushed aside
I said "hey don't push me no one pushes me"
When i was face to face with the woman i admired
And she gave me this look i could not believe
And the cold stare remained; i wanted to leave
See, i do believe anger is offset by sorrow
But you destroy today you might regret tomorrow
When you're young and defensive it comes off offensive
And it's hard to repay the tolerance that you borrowed
The lasting relationship sinks right off the pier
Who wears the pants; it's faded but clear
She's your girlfriend, seems she ain't too fond of me
I guess if that's the way it was meant to be
There we were, just we three
You, your girlfriend, and me
I've known you forever, you two just met
So easily amused; how fast we forget
In my jealously, my self-righteous greed
She's a bit like a book i'm too far sighted to read
And i wish you the best, i sometimes feel the need
To say remember me
She's your girlfriend, as far as we can see
Does she look at you the way she looks at me
And here we are, just we three
You, your girlfriend, and me
She's your girlfriend, it's getting harder to see
Better just take her home, better just let her be
When she walks out that door, you'll come looking for me
Ugh...I've finally put off packing my stuff up for the big 'move' long enough. So now I'm wasting my Friday night getting my crap together. At least I have another week to get completely out of my old place. I'm allready getting buyer's remorse, though. I love the place I'm in now. My Roof deck is great, I really dig on my fireplace, and its been my home for 4 years now. It just seems 'odd'. But, its time to move on, I guess. I originally found this place with my ex, and it just doesnt seem the same with her not being here. Blah...
When I get back from SXSW, I'm planning on having a party at the new digs. Probably get a keg of some tasty local brewery, not to mention fixings for my bad-ass Martini's. By then the 'Tiki Room' will be ready to go. All SGPhilly folx will be invited, of course...and anyone else that wants to make the trek to the Art Museum area.

i'm jealous that you got to meet Brody. i am going to see them in a couple of weeks. i'm beside myself with excitement. i just can't compare her to ms. love tho. i just can't. i am going to check out those bands ASAP. thanks for the tip!
i was going to go see the Walkmen and the French Kicks tonight but i'm losing my drive and will probably end up snuggling in on the couch. i'm old. the Von Bondies are here on thursday and i am definitely hoping to check that out. from what it sounds i'd be right at home hanging out with you drinking your beer and listening to what's in your changer. how fun would that be...
