It's been a busy week, I must say. Pat's Steaks, live music, and crazy ass Thunderstorms have really been making my life a tad bit crazy. But, I've survived, and I have a few more musical tidbits to share this weekend:

Electric Eel Shock http://www.electriceelshock.com or http://www.myspace.com/beatme for the MySpace Music Lover you in). - These guys have earned the moniker of 'Most Loved Japanese Band of the Year', and believe you me, I've heard ALOT of music from that country this year. I was able to catch these guys last night live at the Khyber, and I was blown away. Not only did these guys rock out with some of the coolest Prog/Metal/Punk jams that I've ever heard, they had fund doing it. Take one Part QOTSA, Two Shakes of Black Sabbath, and add a healthy dab of broken English (not the band, the language) and you get Electric Eel Shock. Best song? BASTARD!!!! Great stuff..check it out and buy it at GearHeadRecords.com.

Chinatown http://www.myspace.com/chinatownrock) - From my new favorite record label in Cleveland (OK, its the ONLY record label I know in cleveland) comes the Vancouver based band Chinatown. I just got this record in the other day, and it hasnt left my CD player or my iPod since. Some seriously catchy songs make up the majority of their debut album, reminding me of the best that the 70's Glam Rock era had to offer (with a sidebar of garage sloppiness to make it real). Every track on Chinatown's release is friggin awesome...fans of the New York Dolls won't be dissapointed.

L.A. Shakedown (http://www.acetate.com) - I just CANNOT rave enough about the LA based Acetate Records. These guys put out some seriously music for the punk/rock/garage/loud music lover in each and every one of us. I picked up a copy of a 2003 'sampler' for cheap over the week. The two disc CD contains a shitload of tracks from a TON of artists, including Throw Rag, The Supersuckers, The Catheters, The Stitches, and a butt-load more. Damn cheap for the amount of songs you get...well worth it!

The Dirty Three -(http://www.touchandgorecords.com and http://www.myspace.com/dirtythree) - This band from Australia just made my radio within the past hour after scouring throug the Touch & Go Records website. Some serious music here...a blues/rock fusion with some folk music background thrown in for good measure. Made up of members of Nick Cave's band The Bad Seeds, these guys really show their musical diversity and mastery. The addition of the haunting female vocals by Chan Marshall on the song Great Waves really captured my attention. This one will be a in the mail soon, I can guarantee.

I hope you guys enjoyed...as always, let me know what you think.

yes...what Aaron said above. Are you going to the show on Saturday? I like giant scary women, and she's definately of that stature...
I'm also checking to see if Seanie boy would be interested, since he's become a rock n' roll animal!
