Let's see...I meant to go snowboarding today, but the nasty sickness that is a HANGOVER has made other plans. My brain feels like its two sizes too big for my skull, my nasal cavity has congested to a small sliver, and my eyes keep telling my brain that I'm a tad bit sideways...even though I'm not. Thats what I get for going to the Standard...

How is it that you get hangovers still? I thought you built up an immunity confused

P.s. have you talked to April (filipina tv producer, not SG) lately?
lufy:
Craptastic, my friend. Get your snowboard-on. It'll do you a world of good. I'm in the middle of a road-trip, right now. I need to clear my mind of the nastiness that's built up inside of me. Therapy is therapy. Wheee!

Sooo...I wake up this morning to find that ALL of the snow has MELTED. That's right. The 1.5 feet of snow that we picked up last weekend is now compeltely GONE. It's 60 degrees F outside right now, apparently. It's also windy as hell, and has been raining. What is super weird is that IT'S SNOWING. Yup...small flakes are falling to the ground. The rain...

Yeah, see that's exactly why eHarmony has gone to the back burner. If I was the "real me" on that site, I'd be burned at the stake skull

Skeleton is just a recent addition to the olympic lineup. I enjoyed watching it.

Snowboardcross was easily the best event. So entertaining.

Rollergirls is just full of a lot of stupid girl drama. It's uninteresting the way the SG DVD is.

For those of you that don't know, Im a News Videographer for CBS here in philly. And I work weekends. That means that I'm the fuck that had to stay out all weekend with the snowstorm. That's right....for two days I had to sit in the snow, drive in the snow, pee in the snow....errrr, scratch that last part. Luckily, I was in the city...

I actually started with broadcast stuff. Back in high school I wrote copy for our morning newscast. Did the whole KYW Newstudies program as well. Took a radio and a broadcast newswriting class at Temple too. Somehow the newspaper stuff just grabbed me.

You're right, print journalists do have a much easier transition going to broadcasting than the other way around. Just a matter of editing.

The thought of taking the test in town never came to me. Always figured a rookie without much experience wouldn't have a chance getting work in the 5th or 6th largest market.

Tues and Weds are probably going to be tough for most...but maybe if we plan it a little in advance?

otherwise, I can usually take Tues and Wed off smile so if nothing else, I'll go! I haven't been up there in a while, but always had a blast when I did take the trip.

Sobriety...what a waste of liver/brain tissue. I swear I've come up with some of my best ideas being half toasted then when I was mean and sober. Ah well...

So, nothing new. Except that my News Director/Nazi-esque boss is on the warpath with me again. Apparently, I need to die a horrible death for her to ever excuse any of my past skirmishes with her...

Sort of an extra update. I've been sitting on my rooftop, slightly tipsy yet enjoying the chilly and peaceful weather outside. Snow clouds are rolling in, which is very conducive to my snowboarding tomorrow. It was just so relaxing to hang out on my deck and listen to the odd quiet that decending upon the city. When it gets cold (and late) during the winter,...

Work sucks...I'm bored to tears with most everything...I'm outtof booze.

With all of that in mind, I'm packing up the winter gear and heading up to the mountains to snowboard. So why the fuck not? Nothing better to do...

Miss Mayhem is one of my best friends. She's the bee's knees.

Alas, I signed off on high impact snow sports a long time ago. I prefer to take my risks on horseback. Although I have been itching to go cross-country skiing. ::sigh:: I just haven't been itching to get in the car and drive three hours to the snow. No tears here though. I'd rather keep the snow far away and the good weather close! Today rocks! smile

Oh no you aren't hating on my SAG awards! eeek

Seeing Crash win last night almost convinced me to buy it.

I was able to make it up to the Poconos today. For a bit, at least. It was nice enough...had Jack Frost to myself for the most part. My binding were a little loose, due to the fact that I didnt tighten the things up before I hit the slopes. It took one run down the mountain to try and figure out why I didnt...

I've come to the conclusion that Henry Rollins is the shit. Now, I knew this was a possible many moons ago when I first got the chance to experience his version of Black Flag. And my experiences with his profound wisdom and incredible intellect continued to influence me even with the Rollins Band. But, I've had the chance to re-examine some of his 'spoken word'...

Keeping with my lists for 2005, here's my music purchase list for the year. I've been trying to keep things in order, so I know how much I've spent, etc. Pretty anal retentive, I know.

1. Gluecifer - Automatic Thrills
2. Garden State - Soundtrack
3. Nick Cave - Nocturama
4. Nick Cave - Murder Ballads
5. The Cramps - Bad...

Good to know. I downloaded a bit in the past. Usually it was albums that were out or print or extremely hard to find (if you can find a copy of Ras Kass' first cd in 2002 you would have been considered a god). I'm much better with it now though, especially thanks to online retailers and artists selling their catalog items at merch tables *coughEatyourveganscough*

Here's my compiled list of shows that had some sort of interest for me here in Philly in 2005. I'ts the one I kept updated on SGPhilly and SGNJ as well. Not too shabby, eh?

2. The Dresden Dolls @ TLA - Fri 2/4
3. MU330/Voodoo Glowskulls @ EF - Thu 2/10

Happy Goddamn New Years, folx. May this next year be better than last...oh PLEASE GOD LET IT BE BETTER.

Anyway, just got back from my first snowboard trip of the year. Hit up Jack Frost in the Poconos to test out my new stick and boots. It's really funny how much of a pussy you can be on your first run. I got over it...

I had family living in Germany for a few years during college, and I'd visit several time a year. The coolest tradition that I picked up from my Deutsch brethren was their X-Mas Eve celebrations. Unlike the American tradition of quitely spending the eve before X-mas at home, the Germans that I met got quite rowdy. Big parties and celebrations that lasted the whole night....
