My branch manager had a meeting with the head of our library system. The city of San Diego is short $90 million dollars for the upcoming fiscal year. The state budget crisis is much worse than the public realizes. The bottom line is that I'm very li8kely to lose my job or at least suffer major demotion and loss of benefits. I have a kid and another on the way. There are numerous rational things I can do to cope with this situation, but first I need to get a hold of my emotions and clear my head. The first step is to recognize the emotions that are clouding my mind.
I am scared. In fact I'm shitting my pants terrified. I am also angry.
This may mean another relocation. As a librarian I am dependent on public money for practically every job unless I go corporate, which is my worst nightmare. To get a professional job, and I need a professional job to suport my family I will probably have to leave my home state. Again!
FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK!
I probably won't be on the site much today. I've got to start looking for work.
