Just been reading AnnaLee latest blog and can't believe how much I agree with her on the idea of realtionships. There's this perpetual myth that there is someone out there for everyone but this obviously doesn't mean you'll meet them or that if you do they'll like you in the same way. I'm starting to believe that just accepting that I will be alone is the best option as it removes all the disappointment. Conversely, even though I didn't get anywhere, telling my friend how much I like her made me feel more alive than I have in the last 2 years. So I'm not sure where that leaves me.

My main problem is that I over-intellectualise everything. I've been told by other friends that maybe now is just not the right time for my friend and I to be together and that she might change her mind later. Unfortunately, being a pessimist by nature, I assume that the situation is irreversible and that she will only ever see me as a friend. It's so hard to be positive when you only have negative experiences as a point of referencefrown.

It's at times like this that I both love and hate the human condition LOL.

On a happier note I'm playing at a Wedding party on Saturday so I have a bunch of new songs to learn for the gig. Nothing exciting just the usual dance standards but it gives me something else to focus on for a while.

I know it's morbid but I've been trying to create a list of songs that I want played at my funeral. I want a humanist ceremony so there will be no hymns. Anybody else thought about what songs they'd like played and why?

All for now

Ahhh love is a fickle beast! It seems that most of us spend our lives chasing the wrong person only to discover much later that we've probably already met and missed the one we're supposed to be with. Although your friend may have not returned your feelings, please don't lose all hope just yet because there are still some awesome laydeez out there! kiss

Also, I have a full list of songs that I want at my funeral. I'll show you mine if you show me yours. wink And I want to walk down the aisle to Apocalypticas version of 'Nothing Else Matters'.
